GRADING
Grades reflect mastery of a concept, not hard work, ability to work in a group, etc. To this end, grades are based on assessments, which can take different forms. All assessments will have some "practices" to do first, followed by the assessment, and then the opportunity to retake the test after the student has done more "practice." Students will generally decide when they want to retake a test, and will have up to three opportunities to show mastery.

HOMEWORK/PRACTICE:
Homework serves as the practice needed to pass tests. This means that most homework isn't graded, nor does it count toward the final grade.
ABSENCES:
Work missed from an absence should be made up ASAP. Most assignments are in Google Classroom, so please go there to check on what you missed while gone. Students can also look in the pink "Extras" bin to get any handouts.
TESTS:
Tests may sometimes be open notebook/notes so it is important for work to be completed and up to date.
Students with IEPs will re-test in class unless they have Learning Center, then it can be done there, if they choose.
